The 2008 Whangarei Discovery offers some fun ways to explore the district.

Grab some friends and join our exclusive bus tours which take in some special gardens that won't be available on the main garden trails. Each bus tour will have some special treats, including wining and dining with top chefs, information from landscape and subtropical plant experts and other activities.

Friday 7 March
Blue Coastal Tour
Guided by renowned landscape designers and subtropical plant experts Russell Fransham and Ben Edgar.
This tour includes drinks and nibbles. Lunch can be purchased at a coastal restaurant.

SATURDAY 8 March
Headland Farm Park special tour.
9am to 4pm.
Space is limited.

Special event opens the gates to the exclusive housing estate of Whangarei Heads Farm Park, guided by landscaper Nadine Whitton.
Cambridge chef Wayne Good will demonstrate an innovative menu. The food demonstrated will then be served for lunch, with champagne. You will also see a selection of beautiful gardens which are maintained by your guide and landscaper Nadine.

Cost: $90 (includes lunch cooked by chef)

SUNDAY 9 MARCH
Maunu Estate tour
10.30am to 4pm

Bus tour of the exclusive Maunu Estate gardens, where you will be greeted by the owners.

Cost: $45 (includes picnic lunch and art exhibition)

Headland Farm Park
10.30am to 4pm

Bus tour of the exclusive Whangarei Heads Farm Park, guided by landscaper Nadine Whitton. You will visit very different gardens, all with glorious views of Whangarei Harbour, finishing at the home and garden of Nadine and Alistair Whitton. A light lunch and refreshments is included.

Fee: $45 includes coach and garden entry.
